Planning, recruitment, and implementation for the Transition to Teaching alternative route program will be discussed. The university, in collaboration with rural districts, designed the program to be extremely flexible with the intention to teacher diversity and improve district retention as well as increase program access for rural candidates. Overall outcomes and impacts will be discussed.
