This workshop presents the findings of a study conducted to explore best practices for preparing alternative licensure candidates for the classroom. During their coursework phase of training, participants were asked to identify the teaching strategies they perceived would be the most effective. After teaching in a K-12 classroom for five months participants reported on the measured effectiveness of these strategies. Conclusions, lessons learned and identified best practices will be presented and discussed.
