The teacher shortage problem is wrought with complexities. Issues involving classroom behaviors, school culture, building leadership, current preparation programs and teacher salaries add several layers to an already complex problem. This session will provide information on Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools approach to alleviating the critical shortage problem. By the end of the session, participants will:
  1. Examine how post-secondary partnerships can aid in identifying resource banks
  2. Examine how input on state laws can provide streams for resource banks
  3. Examine how In-District Alternative Certification programming can help to reduce Teacher Shortage
